Mel French

I am a native of Tasmania and after spending most of my adult life and career in Melbourne, returned home in 2020 to reside near the beach and grow my family and professional career in Hobart.

 

I have gained diverse experience in rehabilitation, acute care, and sports settings before discovering my true passion for Pelvic Health. I have accumulated extensive experience working with various pelvic floor conditions and continuously enhances my professional skills and knowledge in this field.

My approach to care is holistic. I am deeply committed to achieving optimal pelvic and general health outcomes, as well as enhancing overall happiness and wellbeing. I prioritise working collaboratively with clients to identify and overcome barriers to participation in daily life activities, sports, and exercise. I am known for developing simple, easy-to-follow, and effective rehabilitation programs tailored to each of my client's needs.

My ultimate goal is to empower clients with the knowledge necessary to achieve their personal health outcomes and I  provide manual therapy when appropriate and design individualised exercise rehabilitation plans.

I graduated from La Trobe University in 2011 and have gained experience working in various clinical settings. In 2017 I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and I have a special interest in Women's and Men's Pelvic Health and continence.

 

I am proud to be a member of the Urology Care Tasmania team and I hope my enthusiasm and love my work is evident. Outside of my clinical practice, I am busy caring for my two children, teaching Pilates classes, performing music gigs with  my husband, and staying active through running and strength training.
