About Dr Victor G. ILIE

Dr. Victor G. ILIE is an Australian trained surgeon, with broad experience in general Urology and special interest in Oncology and minimally invasive surgical techniques including laparoscopic and robotic urology. After completing his general surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney, Dr. Ilie entered specialist training in Urology in New South Wales.
He was awarded the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Fellowship in 2020. He accepted a consultant position in Canberra Hospital, ACT, before settling in Tasmania with his family, where he has been working as a Consultant and Visiting Medical Specialist since 2021.
Dr. ILIE is committed to offering the best treatment options for Tasmanian patients. In 2023 he completed a Robotic Surgery fellowship in Aberdeen, Scotland and gained expertise in Robotic Surgery for kidney, bladder and prostate pathology.
Dr. ILIE offers robotic surgical procedures for prostate, bladder and kidney pathology in Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital in Hobart, while advocating for a robotic surgery program in Launceston, which is due to start in early 2025.
He has a passion for developing the surgical community through visionary leadership and education. Dr. ILIE was successful in a re-election to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Tasmanian Committee and accepted the position of Senior Lecturer with the University of Tasmania in 2021.
Dr. ILIE treats patients with kidney, bladder, prostate and testicle cancer, adrenal pathology, raised PSA and haematuria, renal tract stones, benign prostate pathology and voiding symptoms, male and female incontinence and erectile dysfunction.
Dr. ILIE consults at Urology Care Tasmania Headquarters in Rosny Park and North Tas Urology in Launceston. He performs surgery at Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital, Hobart and Launceston General Hospital and Calvary St. Vincent’s Hospital, Launceston.
